Insight paper

Our Team are including Brian Ford, Aldon Carbon, Marissa Contino, Gianfranco Pizzuto and me, Chien Dao. We took the task of managing the portfolio to design a process by which strategic business units of our (SBU) will make decisions about what projects will fit into the portfolio in its current, well to apply the process to monitor and adjust portfolios based on the overall strategy of the company. That decision came in the first meeting is to develop a portfolio plan for Apple Inc. Having split the project into separate parts to help prioritize the work we do, especially in the early stages of the project. On the other hand, the progress of the project also caused some problems since the last major groups to focus on the sequel than the next part of the project, but often return to us the problem follows. This could have been prevented by re-allocate resources to download more evenly throughout the duration of the project instead of adjusting the number and style of work in weeks.

Since the start of the project, we jumped right into the discussion of the project, instead of determining the organizational structure of teams. We did not choose to appoint a team leader on the team because we feel that is not really necessary and we felt very strong to play in role every other team to divide and complete project tasks. Communication, as in any project, we resolved early in the formation stage because it is very important aspect. By explaining our availability for the rest of the class session, we were able to plan and establish a system for communication, many of which will provide a production set without having to work only in people. The use of an online communication tool, we used here is the mail and the iConnect Present for Team Meetings was supported by the Course, is necessary to maintain communications we need to provide input and share ideas in different times, but does not generate the surplus for other members or risk losing believe in the dispersal of many versions of the document. By using such a platform, members also raise the possibility of considering the most recent edit to any presentations or papers. This helps organize the strategy of each member to a final result, and to review earlier versions in case of dispute editing.

For the most part, our decisions have helped guide the team towards a successful project. Although we did not select a project leader, for certain tasks, a leader has emerged. Such as Aldon has a good organization's skill, so he took the task restructuring and rewording a written plan and a memorandum summarizing the project, Brian is most familiar with Apple, he took the task for the background of this project, Marissa had a good typing and writing's skill so she took the task gathering our opinions and puts it together during the final edit.

The project involved a committee for a portfolio of projects so we want to run the team the same way as the committee. Besides using email, our group decided that it would be beneficial to the project to meet once every other week to talk about the decisions the group that asked to respond immediately based on short-term projects. The meetings are very effective and helped us set up our base for our project.
