Production process

There are 7 layers as a whole which are in the final product of the tetrapak packaging paper. There is one layer of print on the front of the paper with ink, 2 polymer sheets inside are attached to the inside of the paper along with 2 aluminum layers and 2 polymer layers at the end.

The whole production process starts when firstly there is a splicing process which helps continuous production by cutting off the roll which has been moved forward for other processes and attaching a new roll of paper as a raw material. This is done after the unwinding of the paper rolls. Then the festoon machine helps to supply the paper while there is splicing being done and a new roll is being attached

Then moving on the first process taken on the raw material of paper is printing, there is a pre-press section where the sleeves are prepared(similar to negatives of pictures) which creates different webs in one row for example 7 to 8 sleeves on a paper roll in one row.7 printing stations help to make different colors on the sleeves.  There is also the addition of paint done to machines and operators are only required for new print process. There are 5 operators who do the setup on the new process. The creasing tool in the printer adds the holes (straw holes etc.) and aligns the paper when it is moved on. There is a tool to check all the errors which is automated and checks the quality which is known as ‘futec’’, basically it catches the mismatches in the print and tags it as a problem.

Then there is a rewinding which re aligns the whole roll according to the print and shapes and then the paper roll is moved on to work in process station if the orders are high and so that during the maintenance of the laminator or the printer doesn’t stop production. Then in the laminator there are 2 sides where one has a resting roll and one has a running role, the resting roll is joined on later through the splicing and all the process is done similar to what is being done in the printer, here there is also a “futec”. Then there is a flame treator in the laminator which saves the polymer layer from the dust and germs as well as ties the loose fibers. The egs machine then helps to control the grammage of the paper by making it safe and so that it does not rip apart. Then the extruder helps to molten the polymer. There are 2 rollers then which attach the polymer to the rolls and the aluminum is attached by the other roller. There is a layer of polymer on the paper to separate the aluminum with the paper to avoid them contacting each other. Then another layer of polymer is added which is known as the food polymer to separate the food from all the other layers added in the paper to avoid the food contacting the other layers.
