Education Kills Creativity only if allowed

According to Merriam-Webster's dictionary, professionalism is the skill, good judgment, and polite behavior that are expected from a person who is trained to do a job well. Education is a process whereby you are mentally trained to do a job and creativity refers to the phenomenon whereby a person creates something new (a product, a solution, a work of art etc.) that has some kind of value. If one considers the technical definition of education, it can be deduced to a certain extent that education has the capacity to somewhat kill creativity, because in being trained to do something, one is prevented from being free to be creative.

Building from that point, one usually becomes a professional after having taken some sort of education or schooling so if the three worlds meet, according to the speaker, education kills creativity, thereby from the natural progression of being educated to become a professional, your innate sense of creativity as a professional is also killed.

As a professional, I believe that one has the choice to take what one wants form different experiences, be it in the educational arena, religious arena or secular arena. Throughout life, we as individuals have the ability to use our discretion to sift through experiences and absorb what is necessary to push us further in both our professional careers and personal lives.

The video is one man's interpretation of what he thinks happens sometimes to various individuals in an educational system. I don't believe he necessarily thinks that education is bad or wrong but it sometimes has the ability to suppress someone's creative side, which to me, once again solely lies on what that individual will allow. In totality, I don't think my viewpoint on professionalism has been changed by looking at this video because I still think that the art of being a professional lies in the way one conducts himself, and the business capabilities that he/she possesses and education plays a big role in both of these areas.
