Is College Worth it?

At first I didn't think about going to college after I finish my high school, in the Philippines after students get degree, she or he doesn't get a job that suits to his career or the field that he finished. But in second thought I realized that I am different with those people, because I have an opportunity living in United States. That's why I decided to enter college so later in my life those knowledge that I will gain I can use for my future job. To properly execute my duty, and makes me prepare in my chosen career. And some people say "Knowledge is the wealth that nobody can steal from a person" which means people can steal everything for me but not my knowledge. That makes me realized that college is one of the better investments a person can make to enhance their life. Attending college sets a person in the right direction to become a successful individual in the future. Yes, college takes time, and a great deal of money, but in the end it is all worth it. People who graduate from college are more likely to obtain high paying jobs then a person with just a high school education. The cost of attending college may be expensive, but, the outcome of it all is worth the wait.

While college education does not guarantee a job, it does teach student how to think and solve problems. In "Is College Worth It?" says, "But unemployment among college graduates is still half that of high school graduates. A college education payoff is at least as high as it was before recession. You're so much less likely to struggle if have an education."More explanation!

While all jobs are competitive, college education provides students with a skill set limited only by the person's own abilities. provide example Ultimately one must still compete against other job seekers and only the best qualified, or those with ability to learn on the job and adapt will succeed.

Education at the college level encourages critical thinking and not to just memorize events and formulas. Memorization of events and formulas in and of themselves does not promote critical thinking. Critical thinking encourages a person to think outside the norms and this is the key to learning, problem solving and gaining new knowledge. In "Why Go To College?" by the late political scientist Stephen K. Bailey stated: "I get an education so that later in life when I knock on me, somebody answers", which means that later in life he always have an education to fall back on. There are many positive outcomes that can come with an education. The best outcomes are the ability to support oneself, higher self-esteem, and the ability to contribute to society.

College can also prepare students to immediately become a productive member of the work force. College allows a person to obtain skills that can be applied to a job. USA Today had an article that said,"
