Social formation is based upon the social structures . Ancient societies are always developed on the river banks as water is very essential for living which is even realised and practiced by the ancient people .. By taking the intances from mesopotamian civilization , which initially was only a tribal community land was also owned collectively by the people but as time passes by due to excellent cultivation led to the population began to grew immensly thus in search of new lands people began to settle on the southern part of the mesopotamia . As we all know that mesopotamia is surrounded by rivers like euphrates & tigris thus mespotamian lands were fit for agriculture but in the southern part of mesopotamia the environmental conditions were totally in contrast with that of northern mesopotamia thus require irrigation facilities for cultivation . In order to ripe the benefits of surplus production from the fertile lands of southern mesopotamia cooperation among society was require . In this process of urbanisation the society based on the tribal lines now stratified into classes , this was because ghose people who were able to acquire more surplus became the masters other those who were not able to gain benefits became subordinate to them . This is how the formation of the state began in the southern part of the mesopotamia . Now land began to be owned privately . writing develop , invention of iron plogh led to the devlopment of mesopotamian civilization . This is how it reached to its climax & become the most glorious civilization of the iraq thus every tribal society emerged into a thriving civilization through surplus production which they began to trade and barter system is replaced by use of coins ...
