Women are learning to stick up for themselves. Hopefully this will help in changing the faces CEOs of major companies with more incorporation of women. I think the business world needs to open up to the fact the women are just as capable as their men counterparts to lead organizations.

The author’s main point of this article is to show that in the past research has found that women are less likely to start salary negotiations than their men counterparts are. A recent study of Australian women has found that no matter what your gender is, the behavior of salary negotiation is the same. Women are just as likely as men to ask for higher salaries. Both Men and women are scared to ask for a salary increase when they have a mean boss and don’t want to hurt their relationship with their boss. What is bad about the research that has been done is that even though Men and Women both ask for pay increases in the same manor; women are not receiving the salary increase while men are in some cases. Business women are affected by the situation within this article. They are affected, because they are the ones not receiving the salary increase. If the truth really came out, most men depend on a woman to help them with something daily to complete job related task or anything else for that matter.

The information in this article is relevant to me, because I am a woman who has to deal with this type of discrimination daily. I know that I make at least $30,000 less than my male counter parts in my current career. It does not bother me that a man makes more money than me, because if he is doing a fantastic job he deserves the pay that goes along with it. What burns me up is when I am expected to perform at the same level and make less money when I have to answer his questions and help him complete his job.
