A Way of Thinking of Life without a Filter

Milton Glaser is a genius and celebrated American graphic designer, born in 1929 in New York City. Although Glaser likes science, he decided to study Music and Art and performing Arts in his high school, Fiorello H. LaGuardia. He trained at the Cooper Union art school in New York and, via a Fulbright Scholarship, the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna, Italy. The designer established a graphic design studio of his own in Manhatten: Milton Glaser, Inc. instituted in 1974, and continues to produce an astonishing amount of work in many fields of design to this day. Glaser's office is undifferentiated from other workers as he prefers to work in a busy and even a noisy or energetic environment similar to what Glaser old habits when he was studying in the same room with his family and at the same time listening to radio. What poofs that is Glaser's great ability to multitask as he can talk on phone, read and sketch at the same time.

Since he was young, Glaser had an extraordinary talent of drawing anything he wished or asked to do. Over the years, Milton Glaser has become the most intelligent designer who has changed the design world by his an unusual talent in embodying what he sees or thinks into a real art work. As Glaser believes that "transformation of ideas that you have in mind into real thing is the glory of any creative activity" (Milton Glaser To Inform & Delight).

Milton Glaser is a modern renaissance designer who is enormously creative and expressive. Glaser is an influential figure not only in the design field but also in the education communities. He has contributed essays and granted interviews as well as Glaser gives lectures on design. Glaser's works has been featured and exhibited worldwide, for example in the Museum of Modern Art, New York; the Smithsonian Institution, Washington, D.C.; the Cooper Hewitt National Design Museum, New York; the Victoria and Albert Museum, London; and the Israel Museum, Jerusalem. In addition to that, in 2004, Glaser won a Lifetime Achievement award from the Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum as well as in 2009; he was awarded the National Medal of Arts by President Barack Obama.

Milton Glaser is the founder of New York Magazine with Clay Felker in 1968. As Glaser increasingly thinks cares about the world, his magazine reflects diverse genres. Milton Glaser is also famous for the ubiquitous logo "I ♥ NY" which has been distributed worldwide. He designed this logo believing that people tend to remember visuals more than words. According to Glaser, this logo is divided into two parts, the heart which is a symbol for a feeling and NY are initials for a place.
