Elements of Religion

There are many religions in the world. Many of them encourage different relationships with the divine, with sacred times, with sacred space or the natural world. All across the world you will come across many different religions with one common ground, faith. Faith is what they so strongly believe in. We see history happening right in front of our eyes, people dying in the sake of religion. So we ask ourselves why, what is behind this ever so strong passion with a Supreme Being?

We first explore the relationship with divine. We need to take a look further into what exactly divine actually means. Divine has many meanings but one of the main meanings is the Supreme Being or devoted to God or Gods. This is important to understand when exploring or trying to understand religions. Every religion has its own sacred book or that it worships a divide being or that it has a set of commandments. When someone usually hears religion they usually think of a God. Now to explain a relationship with a divide it means to have a sacred relationship with the Supreme Being with him/hers religion.

Relationship with the sacred time is something that every religion across the world believes in. What is a relationship with the sacred time? Relationship with the sacred time means taking time spent doing something different than you normally do. That translates into spending time with whatever religion or God you believe in, and substituting your normal daily tasks with this. An example of this, is going to church on Sundays. Religions such as Christianity, Catholics, and Greek Orthodox all believe in going to church on Sundays. Another example of a relationship with the sacred is Islam. Taking time out of your day and praying.

When we talk about the relationship with sacred time or the natural world, this generally is speaking about all religions. Just about ever religion believes in a natural world. For example Christians believe in heaven and hell. The belief of their religion is that if you are saved you will go into heaven and if you are not you will go to hell. Many believe in a higher power such as God, Buddha, Mohammad, and many more. Buddhists believe their God is Buddha and praise him by offering fresh fruit as an offering. Other religions that spend sacred time with the natural world are Indians. Indians have very sacred time with natural worlds. They believe that it is a journey and nature gives those signs and healings.

Relationships with one another are the biggest part in every religion; those that share the same faith tend to get along the best. Without different kinds of people there would be no religions, because different parts of the world have different beliefs based on the environment which they are raised in. People together are what make up religions. Of course it goes back to roots and ancestors that came up or discovered the religions we see today.
