Team Work: Cultural and Personality Differences

The expansion into Mexico and Eastern Europe increased diversity in Lablog. As you stated, the impact of diversity is negatively affecting production among team members. My suggestion is to have a meeting including all team members and staff to discuss the changes, expectations and the way forward for everyone to enjoy their work experience at this company. To know every culture differences is impossible, but it's imperative to know the norms of cultures affecting your business. "As issues of race, gender, ethnicity, language, and sexual orientation become hotter in national politics they equally affect the workplace (Argosy University, 2011). This should never be the case because when division is in a company, it fails the people.

The main goal of the company should be to reduce misunderstanding, ageism, discrimination, and making a lasting good impression among ourselves and our customers. The smooth running of this company is depending upon effective cultural communication. "Gaining insights into other cultures provides new ideas and perspectives that can be implemented in all aspects of business" (Lankard, 1994). This shows respect for diversity and a willingness to learn the differences in cultures.

Behavior rehearsal is to ask ourselves is, this the kind of message/behavior we want our customers to see and hear.

Interpersonal skills is the ability to give good customer service, courteous to all regardless of race, age, or title (whether you are new or been there the longest). The right attitude is the ability to do your job and separate personal life from my professional life, accept change, contribute at best to solving problems and handling situations as they arise. Cultural diversity is powerful and important in business communication because there are people from all walks of life (Argosy University, 2011).

Multiculturalism is multiple cultures in one country understanding, contributing and learning from each other while not changing their differences. Multiculturalism is described as the appreciation of different cultures as well as the effort to enhance the uniqueness of each cultural group. For some people it is a controversial issue. To conceptually understand multiculturalism, the three sociological perspectives; social functionalism, social conflict, and symbolic interaction needs to be defined. The United States
