Alcohol versus marijuana; which one is worst? Both are a drug that is used significantly today. One causes violent crimes and even death, and the other doesn't. There are health risks, and against the law to have. Why are the things the way it is now with alcohol and marijuana? One is all over televisions programs and sponsorships with sports teams and the other is just say no to the drug. But still, which one is worst?

If I understand right, I believe that alcohol would be worst than marijuana. Every time I used alcohol I feel like I can't drive my car, talk correctly, better yet function correctly, and sometimes angry for no reason why. When I'm on marijuana I feel very happy and realized, like I just want to pop in a movie and sit back and chill and enjoy the time. I can drive better on marijuana than being on alcohol. If there is any other problem with marijuana is spending a lot of money at the stores buying food.

In United States history alcohol production, sale, and consumption was illegal from 1920 to 1933. (Associated Content.com) We all know why alcohol isn't illegal anymore. Three words "The Great Depression". Marijuana is still illegal. If you get caught with it you will go to jail. That's mostly bad part about marijuana. Alcohol you have to be 21 years old to buy out of the stores, but what's happens outside the store is very devastating. Associated Content.com said, "that marijuana was made a potentially dangerous substance by the government, and unwilling to admit that it was wrong about its effects. I think if marijuana was made legal, the government can made a lot of money and raise this country out of a national debt.

Associated Content.com said, "Most people who used alcohol experience a high that is significantly different in accordance with body weight, muscle tone, personality, amount of alcohol consumed, and potency of alcohol consumed. This is the side effect that alcohol has on a human being: Relaxed, euphoric experience, fun in movement and dancing, less shy to things like these, vomiting, headache, improved sleeping patterns, short term/long term memory loss, next day hangover, blackouts, in extreme cases alcohol poisoning leading to death." Now a person that uses marijuana can experience the same similar high as they were on alcohol. The Associated Content.com said this about marijuana, "marijuana users will experience a relaxed, euphoric experience, music and movies come to life, and become more animated, colors sticks out more, stress reduction, haziness, improved sleep patterns, appetite stimulation, paranoia, nervousness, anxiety, and short term memory loss."

According from the Center for Disease Control (CDC), 20,867 people died in the United State from alcohol in 2003. This excludes accidents and homicides in which alcohol has played a big role in. Also according the BBC News there were no reported cases of death that has to do with marijuana, that marijuana was directly implicated. So if there were any deaths that had go do with marijuana, than alcohol would be responsible for 20,867 times that amount in 2003. But that's still not right because there because there hasn't been any death that has to do with marijuana.

A former police chief in Seattle Washington said that," alcohol-related traffic deaths claims about over 14,000 lives each year, which is down from 20 or 30 years ago." He also stated that," THC-related traffic fatalities are elusive, especially since alcohol is almost always present in the blood as well, but marijuana -only traffic fatalities are so small." There also been some laboratory simulations that people that is under influence of marijuana tend to be more aware of their impaired psychomotor skills, and drive well below the speed limit. Now people that are under the influence of alcohol are much more likely to be clueless or defiant about their condition, and attend to speed and drive very recklessly. (Retired Seattle Police Chief) He also stated," that overdoes of alcohol deaths occur annually. There never been a single recorded marijuana OD fatality." According to the American Public Health Association," excessive alcohol consumption is the third leading cause of death in this country." I don't think there have been any reported deaths by marijuana user for lung cancer. What I've always heard is that marijuana is good for someone that has cancer. Alcohol can cause
