Child labour is a big problem in most third world countries, but possibly the most known among the issue of child labour is Pakistan. The reason for this is the well known brand we all love Nike, Nike has been accused repeatedly of using abusive child labour in the production of its soccer balls.

Just do it, but do it right. Well, maybe Nike needs to practice what they preach. This well-known multi-billion dollar company, which targets upmarket sports enthusiasts, or the wannabe sportsperson, has been repeatedly accused of child labour in the third world countries.

Nike was established by Phil Knight, with assistance by Bill Bowman. Phil at the time was a middle distance runner and accounting student of the University of Oregon, while Bill was his coach and mentor. Their love of sports is what brought them together, however, they also had a love for sports shoe design and sporting apparel. In 1962 Knight finished his studies, and went on a round the world trip. It was while he was travelling in Japan, that Knight realised the importance of the design of Japanese running shoes. On his return to the United States, he invested five hundred dollars and imported two hundred pairs of running shoes from Japan to the United States. This investment is a far cry from Nike now has grown to be the world's largest market for athletic footwear and apparel. Worldwide the brand is sold in more than one hundred and sixty countries to Australian and overseas markets.
