To conduct negative campaigning is barely new, but judging this year's campaign, it could turn out to be one of the most negative political races in decades.

It's an election year, so we're hearing all the lines from Romney and Obama's presidential campaigns about how awful the opponent is, what they intend to do to get America back on track and why they are the right person to take office. Spin doctors, strategy, throwing punches at each other and extreme media coverage - the American people are disgusted by how the politicians run the race. Do they even know the country is in a deep crisis? Does dignity, integrity and the truth matter anymore in the political process or is the main focus just to take office with all means? The candidates are thoroughly instructed, as a part of a bigger plan, in how to win the voters, not much by hardcore political stances nor by heartfelt opinions but instead they are instructed in performing emo porn, to seduce Mr. and Mrs. America to give them their vote. When the candidates approach the media screen, there are always professional communicators involved. Spin doctors are stated as necessary figures in modern politics and the current election has highlighted the political influence of them. They are the masterminds behind the candidates, pulling them around like a puppet on a string, giving them the keywords and the punch lines to win the voters over and to dig up dirt on the opponent.

In addition, the media coverage is also playing an important role. They have immense power to pull the public opinion in any direction. Not always aware of their power or the consequences of their selling headlines, they are largely responsible for overturning a candidate who otherwise is perfectly qualified to run for president but who gets knocked over as a result of an ugly detection of his private life, which shouldn't have any influence on his ability to govern. The new strategy conducting negative campaigning has become the norm in all political venues. The candidates are trying to win an advantage by referring to negative aspects of the opponent or his policy rather than emphasizing one's own positive attributes or preferred policies. The mudslinging has become a standard in American politics and it has beaten the democracy and ideologies which America is based upon and which is a bearing element in thedconstitution. It has become a political game where the candidates use all means to achieve the highest position in the world.
