Explain Dan Silver’s problem connecting with his audiences and theorize about its relevance to a business setting. How does the communication ability KNP consultants tried to develop in Silver relate to the qualities of “Level 5” leaders found in Jim Collins’ research?

Dan Silver, during the 19th Congressional district election, felt the need to improve his abilities to connect personally with people and to exude warmth. One of the problems was he didn’t appeal to the feelings of the audience and spoke directly about policies. In a competitive business environment, this trait resonates to connecting personally with the customers to build trust on the product and the company. It gives the employee a personal connection to serve the customer better. During public appearances, he kept his eyebrows raised and never smiled. This meant that he was unable to cope up and was uncertain about his own situation. These nonverbal habits showed him as underconfident and upset. This trait echoes with excellent customer service which starts with a smile. Smiling communicates the state of mind and influence customer’s perception of brand.

KNP consultants helped Silver to personally connect with the audience in a public appearance. They installed the driver of “First Who”. They taught Silver to put audience first and then address the policies. They channeled ambition in him and set him up for even more greatness. He demonstrated unwavering resolve to work on his weakness to win the elections. They transformed him from good to great by building the traits of personal humility and professional will to succeed.
