Organizational behavior is important today for every organization because corporations must learn to adapt to the rapidly changing business cultures under competitive and fast-paced market. In today's business world, managers are more concerning on employees react to situations rather than if they respond. Organizational behavior is an intricate piece of training ande development of the workforce. In the business world today, I feel organizational behavior is an essential tool for managing effective teams. If you can zone in on an employees' personality, creativity, and adaptability, motivating that employee the way they need to be motivated is never a gray area and a guaranteed success.

As the environment of business is always changing, the role of the managers has become more sensitive. The managers have to know how to handle a new workforce and deal with the complication of the new environment. The supervisors need to develop their attitude and behavior of individuals and groups in organization. Now we know not only the hard skills are important for get the job done, soft skills are helps managers to do their job more effectively and efficiently.

Leadership is an important function of a company which helps to maximize efficiency and to achieve organizational goals.

* Initiates action- Leader should take initiative to start a project or task assigned and communicate with subordinates from where the work actually starts.

* Motivation- A leader need to motivate employees with economic and non-economic rewards to complete tasks more efficiency.

* Providing guidance- A leader has to provide necessary support to subordinates every time and guide or instructs them to perform their work more effectively.

* Creating confidence- Confidence is an important factor which can convince your subordinates to complete their tasks and help them to solve problem together.

* Building morale- Morale is coming from the employees towards their work and a leader give confidence to them and winning their trust. In addition, leader can be morale booster so that they can perform well as they work to achieve goals.

* Builds work environment- Management should create a stable and helpful environment. They should listen to their problems and solve with them. In another way round is treating employees on humanitarian terms.

* Co-ordination- Co-ordination can be achieved through proper and effective co-ordination which should be primary motive of a leader.

At the organizational level, HRM have included as below:

* Acting as a strategic partner with senior managers and leaders by aligning HR strategies and practices with overall organizational strategies;

* Acting as an administrative expert for recruiting and hiring staff, evaluating employee performance, staff development and training, rewarding, supervising and delivering other HR processes that contribute to an organization's smooth operations;

* Representing and supporting employees; and,

* Acting as a change agent to prepare employees and implement processes for change within an organization.

A High Performance Organization (HPO) is a company that is considered on profitability, customer service and strategy.

Strategic Methodology

* A company needs a business strategy along with hiring employees who have good personalities and creative that is similar to the company's strategic approach. Employees must understand the visions and missions of company so that they can be effective in their job.

Customer Methodology

* Serving best service to customers is primary function to high performing in an organization. It is important to use customer information effectively to determine future of services and products.

Leadership Methodology

* All employees must involve and fulfill to company's goals. Immediate supervisors must show leadership by understanding their subordinates' strengths and how to properly utilize them.

They have seven key characteristics of organizational culture will be identified and discussed. Firstly, IBM concerned on innovative and risk taking. They would focus on tech innovation that is the reason why IBM is dominant position in the marketplace. Such high tech innovation is risky in terms of the tremendous cost expense for research and development department. Last few years in 2005, IBM was granted more patents than any other company or individual which was contribution on innovation technology project. They were granted two thousand eight hundred and eighty six patents.

Secondly is attention to detail. Management request employees display expert precision, analysis and detail. This has to take time to analysis every cause root and would have conflict with management desire for minimal costs, development time and other financial related matters. Outcome orientation is highly needed. The outcome, vision and marketing plan is regularly stressed in monthly meetings. They have a big picture in the orientation which delivering a quality product at cost, on time and responsiveness to customers needs. This would be help a lot in a team to achieve goal set.

Fourth and fifth are people orientation and team orientation respectively. Both are linked together. Management people are highly concern on both orientations. One on one informal discussion is common and occurring regularly. This kind of discussion will improve the relationship between manager and staff which can directly get the feedback from employees what they are thinking on prospect of a company. Besides, the employees may discuss work related concerns, goals as well as solicit performance feedback. Team work is highly promoted and cross functional teams are norm.
