Are you bored of your home city? Why don’t you come and visit our multi-cultural city Leicester. Leicester is full of history and we have a remarkable shopping centre. But don’t take my word for it, read this fabulous leaflet and come to visit Leicester!

Any sports fans out there? Leicester is the home of Leicester City Football Club, which is based at the King Power Stadium. If you’re ever around try and get tickets to go see them as the atmosphere its self is amazing place to be. You don’t like football? Well just off Welford Road near the castle like prison, don’t let this scare you; there is Leicester Tigers Rugby Club. The players have played in the World Cup 2003, which was a massive success for us. If you would rather join in than watch, Leicester has a variety of sport facilities including gyms, leisure centres and sports clubs.

If you would like to relax and take a break from shopping here are some things you could do. With an award winning theatre, Curve Leicester is well known for having the best shows and a big production line. Many famous actors have performed on stage at Curve including David Witts, from Eastenders, Rebecca Craven from Waterloo Road and the award-winning musician Pixie Lott. Author of Adrian Mole, Sue Townsend has her own theatre called the Sue Townsend Theatre in the city centre. A lot of excellent productions have performed here, including dance shows and competitions.

Leicester City Centre has all the usual High Street retailers, many of which are in the Highcross Shopping Centre. We have one of the largest markets in Europe, anything and everything can be bought here including a large range of fruits and vegetables from all around the world. If you don’t want to stay in the City Centre and want something out of the ordinary, there is our Golden Mile where India has brought themselves to us. The strip has a variety of shops, which sell many different kinds of food and clothes. Leicester is very well known to have the largest celebrations in the Indian culture, especially when it comes to Diwali time. If you’re in Leicester around October/November time make sure to visit Belgrave Road, you won’t want to miss out.

Leicester is truly an inviting and accepting city for a visitor, simply because everything it is a very compact city and many of the above are in walking distance or you could get a bus which are very short rides. It doesn’t matter how you get about around Leicester, but as long as you’re in Leicester that is all that counts. Are you going to come visit Leicester now? They are waiting for you!
