I believe that the national minimum wage should be raised. My reasoning's for my opinion is because the cost of living is too high and there is too many of us working dead end jobs. I believe that raising the minimum wage might increase inflation due to more money coming out than going in, but increasing the minimum wage could also help decrease poverty and stimulate the economy. This is not the only reason why I think the minimum wage should be raised. I do in fact think the minimum wage can and should be raised because more income for more families means more possible successful entrepreneurs.
With more successful entrepreneurs businesses can rise and flourish creating more jobs and decreasing poverty throughout the nation, and possibly worldwide. Small businesses will stay unhurt by the wage increase because they will tax breaks for paying employees more. Some people think that it's ridiculous that congress can vote themselves raises but they won't vote for a higher minimum wage, which shows that powerful people want only two things, power and money. With all the big business and fast food chains that we have why is it so hard for these companies to increase their minimum wage? Is American society all about greed? Have we no compassion for the lower class that work two jobs and can barely pay their bills?
It is up to us, the people to help make a change. If there is anyone who agrees with me, which I do believe there is, then we need to stand, and approach congress with this national problem. People are the problem, but can also be the solution. In conclusion, congress should take into though that the minimum wage should in fact be raised.
