My School's Experience

A School Experience

My greatest school experience was my high school that attended from 2014 to 2017. It was Regina Pacis High School and located in Solo, Indonesia. I chose this school because it was considered one of the best schools in my city. Although the school required me to come 8 hours a day and six days a week, it was the best experience ever, because it had great friends, teachers, and core curriculum activity or CCA.

Since high school is more challenging than junior high school, I expected boring, difficult, and complicated school life; luckily, the unexpected happened, there were fun teachers, and friends to help me. I considered the best help was from my math teacher. He was a kind, funny, old teacher who made an online group messenger to discuss what we had learned the day after classes, and provided lots of practice questions. Since he did not always show up in the group, he told us to discuss our difficulties with our friends before we asked him, so we could have mutual learning. Mutual learning required us to teach our friends how to solve the questions; in order to do that, we were required to communicate, and master the questions. In my teacher’s opinion, it was the best way to get to know each other, and improve math skills.i

Every Thursday, we had an after class program called core curriculum activity. It was compulsory for every student, and at the end of the year, based on each individual’s attendance and achievement, we could be graded A, B, C, or D. It was required for us to choose only one of them at the day of the orientation. I had in mind that I would join the basketball program; however, there were too many basketball enthusiast, so the school decided to let all of the twelfth grader enthusiast to join it, before the eleventh graders, and the tenth grader, because it was their last year in the high school; that was why I choose the soccer program. It was really good except for the poor, old, muddy field, which would make us dirty after rain. Mostly, we did some endurance practices before we played a game., that lasted thirty minutes. There were three games, and each one of us got to play once. After I finished my games, I sneaked out, and joined the table tennis program. That was the time when I got my new hobby.

In my spare time, I often played online computer games and hanged out with some friends. The game that I played were CSGO and Dota 2. CSGO is a Firs Person Shooter or FPS game. The aim of the game was to plan a bomb when we became a terrorist; in the other hand, we should stop the bombing when we became a counter terrorist or police; while Dota 2 was a MOBA game or Multiplayer Online Battle Arena. We would win this game when we destroyed our enemy’s base; however, playing these games got me bored sometimes, so I decided to go out with my friends.
