The importance on maintaining and having your inspectable items ready at all times is the standard. Soldiers should always maintain their inspectable items and keep them in good condition. Soldiers should know were there inspectable items are at all times. Soldiers are responsible for knowing where their id card is at all times. It is also the soldier's responsibility to maintain their id card at all times as well, by making sure it is not expired, all important info is correct and there is a good clear and visible picture of soldier on their id card. Soldiers should always maintain and have their dog tags on them at times; it's a second form of id to a soldier. The importance of the Phantom Warrior handbook is that it has all the standards of Fort Hood also it is an inspectable item post wide. The purpose of the battle buddy card is that you have all the important numbers in case you find yourself in a situation. Soldiers must maintain accountability of inspectable items in every situation they may find themselves in, whether it's in or out of uniform. It is also important to have your inspectable items because it shows good discipline. Discipline is created within a command by instilling a sense of confidence and responsibility in each individual. Discipline demands correct performance of duty. Discipline is of the utmost importance in order to ensure the efficiency of the military organization as a whole as well that of the individual units. Efficiency helps to ensure that goals are met and that the highest level of professionalism is maintained at all times. The level of discipline directly affects a soldier's conduct so the two concepts are directly related and of equal importance. Discipline is important in life as well as in the Army. There will always come a time where you want to do wrong or even do wrong, and with that thought you will be able to make a conscious decision to know what you are doing or done is the right thing. Discipline is the most useful quality. It means to act in an orderly manner. It means to act strictly according to principle. Discipline involves obedience.
