Strategy Wrt Bloomberg

Bloomberg plays a very important role in a student’s career who opts for Finance or Financial Engineering as a specialization. In our college, the Bloomberg terminal has been used by students in different projects for collecting information on various aspects in the area of finance.

The importance of Bloomberg has been understated and its importance in curriculum is to be appreciated by one and all. Below strategies are being currently implemented to spread awareness about the Bloomberg terminal.

1. A seminar on Bloomberg terminal has been initiated for the junior batches. This seminar would initiate the students about the basic functionalities available on a terminal and certain aspects which are important from a curriculum perspective.
2. Faculties in the areas of Finance have been brought into this idea of using Bloomberg terminals for projects, whereby the students would be asked to pull out comprehensive data from Bloomberg and use it for their projects and assignments.
3. The seminar will introduce the students to the Bloomberg Markets Concepts Program and we have invited our seniors who have benefited from the usage of Bloomberg in their careers to advise the students on the importance of using Bloomberg for their career.
4. The Finance club has been tasked to come up with a Bloomberg related quiz which will test the students on their knowledge of the terminal and thus incentivize the students to get a knowledge of Bloomberg.
5. We have nominated Bloomberg ambassadors from the senior batch who have already completed the BMC program, to act as a reference point for the new students in assisting them through Bloomberg.
