Since the ultimate goal of Uber is to provide good transport facilities to the customers, having good driver partners becomes very important for the facility. However, in this competitive market it is extremely important for Uber to get more driver partners in order to give better service to their customers.

With the increased number of people switching to Uber and Ola from traditional taxis, it becomes more and more important for Uber to engage loyal driver partners so as to gain a competitive edge over other similar brands and provide the customers with a good experience while travelling.

One of the best ways to make sure that Uber gets good and loyal drivers is to make a background check before actually getting a driver employed to the organization. The background check will help in the safety issues faced by the customers while travelling in these cabs.

  1. One of the major advantages that the Uber drivers have is the fact that they can work according to their own convenience, in the organization. This helps the people to become driver partners with Uber even after their regular jobs to make a couple of extra money in order to save up or sustain their families.
  2. Uber also provides the drivers with weekly payments which makes sure that they won’t have to wait an entire month to get paid and helps a lot of drivers, especially in a country like India.
  3. Singing up to become a driver with Uber is really simple. People can either sign up through their online accounts or they can manually get their cars registered from the Uber office.
  4. Drivers get associated with one of the largest brand providing taxi services around the world. This provides them with a sense of safety.
  5. The incentive scheme provided by Uber is another factor for the drivers to get motivated and sign up in the Uber platform.
  6. Increased number of Uber on road and the increasing number of cities where the service is being provided is also another motivational factor for drivers to sign up.

When people sign up to become a driver partner with Uber, they look not only for good treatment from the companies end but also from the customer’s end.

  1. Since most of the riders are new to this whole establishment, one of the best ways to guide their through to the 100 trips benchmark could be to provide them with an induction or training process as to what to do and what not to do while being a part of Uber.
  2. One of the greatest fear of the driver partners of Uber is getting a lower rating which may affect their incentives. Without fining the driver partners or demoting them to a lower service rank, they could be made to attend a coaching to make them learn how to treat customers better.
  3. As the incentive schemes have been converted to amount of money earned by the drivers, hence they might get an urge to work more during the peak hours and cancel rides during other times. The scheme can be changed to the amount of distance covered along with a certain percentage of the customer feedback. This would prevent them from cancelling rides in non-peak hours or when the distance is long.
  4. Create recognition programs. This will make the best rated driver of a region known to all which in turn will motivate the drivers to serve customers better.
  5. Get newly joined and old driver together in meets so that the old drivers can share inspiring stories with the new ones so as to motivate them and inspire them through their 1st 100 rides.
  6. Introduction of daily payments instead of weekly ones in order to make the offer or Uber platform more attractive to the partners.
  7. Exclusivity clause where the driver partner can work only with Uber and will get added advantages in the form of monitory rewards for the same.

As and when the driver partners will come to sign up with Uber, they will be explained how the coaching or training program will be held, what are the incentive processes. The driver partners can also take help from the “may I help you” partners who will be available for assistance and will clarify their doubts. They will be updated about the “senior and junior” meets via phone calls and attending these meets will result in bonus.
