What do we do in the funeral?

I don't know too much about procedures in the funeral, because it seems so creepy weird for me. However, I know there are some things people must to do in the funeral.

First day, people will invite their relatives and friends to have a great meal. This will start from the noon and end in the evening. But only the deceased's sons or daughters will stay up for whole night.

Second day, maybe in the morning, they will bury the corpse and coffin. They will lift coffin to a mountain and bury it in a place where their relatives or family members have already chose for the coffin. People will fire the firecrackers, sometimes there is also a rooster on a coffin. I don't know why there's a rooster, I believe it's some fetishistic reasons.

In the following few days, maybe around seven days, people will offer up a sacrifice. There's a saying in China that deceased can realize that they are dead only after seven days. This is really creepy, because lots of adults used to tell me that the spirits of deceased may come back home. This is really scared, this is also why I don't want to attend any funeral. After all these procedures, people will "send" some money, food, houses, clothes to dead people by burning them. These are all made of paper. Every year during the festival, we will fire the firecrackers, light up some candles and so on.
