“Response to Executive Order 9066” by Dwight Okita, and “Mericans” by Sandra Cisneros

Both writers "Dwight Okita" and "Sandra Cisneros" were greatly influenced by the American Culture. In Okitas poem talks more about how you experience Culture. Cisneros poem talks about where your family comes from. They both, though, talk about how cultural background and your apparance does not determine on what being american means.

"Mericans" by Sandra Cisneros, uses more american like words ands talk about stuff that happens insidew the US. “Response to Executive Order 9066” by Dwight Okita is about a little girl tat is seeing a more of a merican culture through her best friends family.

Throughout the short story "Mericans" the writer talk about her grandma doesn't like the United states by how she prays for her family being in America because america is barbaric. The story has different ways of showing that the writer doesnt agrfee with her grandma. like how she uses american terminology like "awful, church, and plaza. Also it talks about how boys pick on girls and later the girls feels like they have to do things boys do and grow up putting themselves before men.
