The Day after Tomorrow: Impact of Global Warming on Society

Global warming is described as a gradual slow increment in the normal temperature of the Earth's environment and its seas. However, this change is believed to be for all time changing the Earth's atmosphere. Global warming has as of now begun and, sadly, will keep on compounding in the coming years. Effects of global warming have well been depicted in the science fiction movie “The Day After Tomorrow”. Certain consequences are to be expected because of global warming. One of them is; higher temperatures – Along with the softening of ice tops and subsequent melting off them on Polar Regions, the rise in temperatures brought on by the global warming will be normal (Paudel & Hatch, 2012). All this influences the living space of creatures as well as the way of life of individuals living in frosty and seaside territories. As seen in the movie which depicts the extinction of mammoths which was brought about by the first ice age, many animals can go extinct because of these..

Human wellbeing and health will also be affected. The body of a person can adjust to changes in the climate through years of encountering the progressions. Be that as it may, as they turn out to be more extreme, the body won't have enough time to adapt to them. What this means is that the immune system of many might fail and thus prompt more individuals becoming ill (Baer, H. 2012). New infections can emerge because of these and also varieties of old ailments.

Extreme weather will also result because of global warming. Hurricanes, tornadoes, volcanic eruptions, as well as storms, are to be expected (Von Burg, R. 2012). In the movie, we also see the ice begin to break and fall off almost ending the life of the central character in the film. There is also a hail storm witnessed because of the rise in temperatures globally. This movie is a prophecy so to speak of what will be brought about by global warming.

In conclusion, the whole world needs to be made aware of the repercussions that can be caused by global warming so that they can take care of their environment to avoid disastrous consequences. The movie “The day after tomorrow” has helped in bringing awareness to the whole world of the impacts of global warming.
