Michael Joseph has been the CEO of east African most successful and most profitable company. He has steered the company into a multimillion dollar company during his tenure as the company's Chief Executive officer. Michael Joseph, who holds a Degree in Electrical engineering from Cape Town, was first employed to fix manual telephones headset in one Company in South Africa from which he moved to Vodacom and shifted to East Africa with a group of five people in 2000 to establish a mobile phone service company. This saw the birth of the multimillion dollar company out of Michael Joseph's Brain. He injected twenty million dollars into the congested and outdated analogue network that was owned by the Kenya Posts and Telecommunications Corporation after the Kenya Government hunted for a strategic partner to take over the system that was on the brink of collapse (Obura, 2009). Michael Joseph has transformed the communication world in east Africa as well as the Safaricom Company he has been heading for the last ten years, from the once moribund and rusty department in the Kenya Posts and Telecommunications Corporation (KP&TC) into an a telecommunication company that is internationally-acclaimed giant that is revered worldwide for its unique and successful innovations. Every year the company makes news for being ranked as the most profitable company of the year by making billions of shillings in profit (Obura, 2009). Michael Joseph helped Safaricom to Launches online partnership with Wananchi Online which was the first mobile internet and email service for both business and individuals. A year later the company becomes the first to launch General Packet Radio Services. The company came up with samabaza services where a subscriber could share his airtime with other subscribers' upon his consent. In the year 2007, Safaricom was the first company to operate three G internet services networks which was commercially launched the following year. Michael Joseph management has brought the world of communication in East Africa to a new level with the Safaricom having more than twenty million subscribers. Michael Joseph hit world news headlines when he pioneered the mobile money transfer service commonly known as the M-Pesa service that was of its own kind and its success is a world class and has created lots of employment (Safaricom press release, 2009). The M-pesa technology supports mobile mode of payment and has revolutionised how the rural dwellers who have no access to banking services transact their businesses from the comfort of their handsets (Safaricom press release, 2009).
