2. What benefits would a database provide over paper records?

A database is far superior to a paper system. With a database a user can access needed information whenever he/she wants. They can organize the data in various ways, they can find that data easily, and if they need to change the data it can be done rather simply. Also, the information can be cross-referenced, maintained, updated, protected and expanded with ease and very minimal effort. A database (electronic) promotes effective and efficient data searches along with productivity increases in the work environment due to less work needed to gather/find pertinent information.
