When determining the reliability of data there are a few things to look at. First you want to check where the information comes from. When researching a topic or place it is best to go toward the source. When searching online you will find many sites that are full of incorrect information. Some sites such as Wikipedia.com will allow anyone to make changes and this gives room for error by misinterpretations. That brings me to the next thing to check, it is important to make sure the information is not allowed to be changed by anyone. The information needs to only be changed by a qualified person. A qualified person will research and change information properly. My favorite way of searching is through google or bing, these search engines will help find the official site. When I am trying to find a specific item or store, I will read reviews and see what other customers thought about it and then will continue to research. Some believe anything they hears and will just buy without any research and most of the time will have to take it back or buy a different product.

It is important to analyze the data to determine it is reliable because incorrect information can be a hassle in many ways. When trying to make a purchase it is important to have the right information. When a person or company is locating a service company of some sort it is especially important to have reliable information to ensure they are using the right company for them.
