Question 1, after doing an online auditing of myself on Google (both logged in and logged out), I am very active on social media such as Instagram, and by using the three tool, I am very confident with the information that is being shown on the social media that has been posted. The findings on Google shows the history of my life on social media as well as a newspaper article that I have participated in many golf tournaments. Besides, the information is relevant to my professional life as it could help me with my job application as a golf instructor.

Question 2 and 3, there are some information that is not appropriate to me on people’s social media. Contacting them would not be a problem because most of them are friends. However, to get me more informed of this matter, using Google alert would be useful so that I could keep my name clean on any social media.

Question 4, three steps for setting up professional presence online are – (i) Create a professional profile on the internet such as skills, achievements, and career history. (ii) Update regularly on the status of the field that you are interested. (iii) Connect your profile with people that you know and search for more people that is interested in the same field of work.

Question 5, in order to protect my information from being stolen, I will turn on the privacy setting to selected people, and not using third party application.

Hi Madison Runge,

Online reputation is important for me to control as work concerns. I have controlled the presence of myself on the internet, and based on the information posted, they are related to my education, working experience, and mostly golf careers over the past 12 years. Besides, information on my personal life have been set as private in order for me to separate my personal and professional life.  Therefore, to further protect my internet presence from other sources, I have installed Google Alert to notify me any recent updates on any social media.
