Poverty

Poverty is a most common and a very serious social threat which has affected the whole globe for thousands of years. Poverty does not have one clear definition. Poverty is a very complicated issue and also it is a multi-faceted concept. In particular, poverty means a lack of access to basic resources of the daily need of a person, for example, food, clean water, sanitation, education and capital. In other words, Poverty can be defined as a social phenomenon in which a section of the society is unable to fulfill even its basic necessities of life. Poverty does not have a single cause because poverty varies considerably depending on the situation.

As poverty is a social problem, therefore, it has a straight relation with the course GNED 500 because this course is also deals with the social issues which can be found in the society and with the help of this course, many ways can be found to overcome the social problem like poverty. This course teaches a person to think globally as a citizen of the world which is the main influence of this course. Therefore, as being a global citizen, it is very important to care about the problems of other nations also rather than one's own nation. In this way, the problem of poverty is global and it's very important for a global citizen to make some efforts to completely disappear this problem from the map of the world.

As I am also the part of this world so poverty has a relationship with me as a global citizen. Then as being a global citizen, the meaning of poverty is same for me as for other people. So poverty can affect me physically and mentally. Personally poverty can affect my behavior and my academic performance. Poverty can cause stress which means it can affect my learning ability.
