As the chances of us securing this project is high, due to our previous experience in the Leicester Stadium, we need to 3 factors need to be consider
Factors to be consider tendering for project. We need look at feasibility study and the values project return to the organization.
For feasibility study, we can broadly look into it from four areas of feasibility. They are:-
Technical Feasibility
Economic Feasibility
Legal Feasibility
Scheduling Feasibility
Technical feasibility
Technical feasibility is done to check whether the company has the technical abilities in terms of software, hardware, personnel and expertise to ensure that the project can be handled and taken up upon. Our company West Construction having previously completed a very similar project, Leicester Tigers RFC stadium, definitely has the personnel and expertise to take on this new project.
The most significant technical challenge will be the retractable roof. The roof supports can be started as soon as the lower concrete base is completed. As from our CPM, it will be xxx days from start of project. We have two options for the constructing the retractable roof. One is to sub contract out this portion of the project and the second option is to take on this entire project ourselves. We have evaluated that in order to meet quality assurance and the high probability that future constructions will require this expertise, we will take on the building of retractable roof ourselves. To complement our lack of expertise in this area, we have engaged 3 members of the team who were part of the project team that built Millennium Stadium retractable roof. They have given their professional advice and in their report, they have assured that we are able to handle this challenging part of the project on our own.
We are able to engage the required manpower and machinery especially with the availability of market resources due to the completion of Olympic resources recently. This will not impact on the completion of the other projects on hand which are the Pacific Heights Condominium, Grand HyperGreen Park and Nottingham Swimming Complex.
Economic Feasibility
This refers to whether our company has the cash flow to undertake this project. Look at our cash flow statement, we definitely has the capacity to take on this project. We have also look at terms and conditions for the payout of funds for the building of Nottingham Rugby Football Club:-
A) Upon confirmation of contract : 10% of GRAND TOTAL AMOUNT
B) Upon commencement of project 1st June 2012 : 40% of GRAND TOTAL AMOUNT
C) Upon completion of Task no 16 (Construct Roof): 40% of GRAND TOTAL AMOUNT
D) Upon completion of final inspection: 10% of GRAND TOTAL AMOUNT
This project will not affect our other projects on hand i.e. Pacific Heights Condominium, Grand HyperGreen Park and Nottingham Swimming Complex.
Legal Feasibility
Our in house lawyers has studied thru the legal requirements of the contract, and we have also the studied the details requirement of the new stadium and it mets the building regulations of the United Kingdom.
Scheduling Feasibility
Our CPM done up by Pilots stadium, Gray and Larson who is very experience in calculating man hours and project completion dates , has clearly indicate that we are able to complete the project on time. Actually the CPM indicate we have a buffer of xxx days which xx% to cater for unforeseen circumstances such as bad weather that we are lightly to experience in the winter period.
Value and Return of Project Nottingham Rugby Club Stadium
