   The Changes of Women’s statuses                    

    Yesterday, the professor in ESL class gave us a essay called Women Enter the Electronics Market to read.After reading the article,she gave us a topic about the changes of women’s statuses .I argued that it’s a wonderful idea to discuss the changes and reasons why women changed.

    As time goes by,women’s statuses have really changed a lot.And there are more and more people coming to realize the importance of women’s status since The Enlightenment. What’s more, in the 1960s, because of the USA feminist movement, most people agreed with the equality between men and women.And today,women have the same rights as men(Well,sometimes women have more rights than men nowadays) .

    More and more phenomenons proved it true.  At first, in ancient China ,women are supposed to follow their husbands’ will anytime.What’s worse, if husbands died, women would die for it or they can’t marry anymore . But now women have more rights to choose their own life,which make women have more chances to take part in the social activities.     Secondly, due to more chances ,women enter the market and become some of the biggest consumers of markets.For example,some experts  reported report that women are actually buying more electronics than men.And a recent study by the consumer Electronics Association reported another interesting development.It states that almost a third of the new and more innovative electronics are sold to women(The above information is from the textbooks) . We can infer that women are becoming the new costomers of electronics market ,and women will play a more important role in other new markets.      Last but not least,women have the same political rights compared to the ancient greeks when women can’t even participate in the sports meeting.Today many women have their own politics,such as The German chancellor Merkel, United States Secretary of State Hillary.They played an excellent ability in politics, and everyone find it unquestionable that women can also play vital roles in politics.  

    As a matter of fact ,there are many reasons why women become more independent. One of the most important reasons is the feminist movement.The Women's movement effected change in Western society, including women's suffrage, the right to initiate divorce proceedings and "no fault" divorce, the right of women to make individual decisions regarding pregnancy (including access to contraceptives and abortion), and the right to own property. It has also led to broad employment for women at more equitable wages, and access to university education(The above information is according to  the Wikipedia) .  With the improve of the education,women began to have a sense of independence.In addition, women started to acquire more knowledge which help them have more chances to learn new things.Then they can choose all kinds of jobs to be in control of their life.So women became easier to have individual consciousness.
