For this assignment, you will be responding to Part 1 and Part 2 (below) based on your reading of “The Day I Got Lost” by Isaac Bashevis Singer. You are to locate textual evidence to characterize the main character, Professor Shlemiel. Be sure to include in-text citations. See the examples for details.
THE PURPOSE of this assignment is for you to show how well you understand direct vs indirect characterization – and how to support that knowledge with textual evidence. The rubric that will be used to grade your responses is located at the bottom of this assignment.
