Incorporated in The Kenan Advantage Group's Enterprise Resilience Plan is the Hurricane segment. This section focuses on KAG and its subsidiaries practicing proper procedures that will permit our operations to sustain the devastation of a hurricane. Coinciding with our goal of continual operation, performing necessary actions will aid in minimizing damage and maximizing safety and relief. The Hurricane Plan focuses on maximizing efficiency of The KAG's preparation for reaction to a storm of any magnitude. The plan focuses on two periods of time: before the hurricane and after the hurricane. For both periods, the plan focuses on employees, facilities, and equipment.

The "Before the Hurricane" preparations begin with The KAG pre-storm business plan, which is the cornerstone of our hurricane preparation. Next, the operational plans are outlined in the report, which communicate our requirements for service, evacuation, government contacts, loading, evacuation, and important guidelines. Communications are also addressed in this section, which will play a critical part in overall coordination in the event of an emergency.

Finally, the pre-storm stage of the plan outlines important information for all drivers and managers. Drivers should note the importance of being on the direct deposit pay program.

Managerial responsibilities and procedures are also documented here. A clear outline of actions and items that The KAG views as mandatory is documented for all managers and terminals.

The "After the Hurricane" reaction begins with our response steps. The Hurricane Emergency Assistance Team (HEAT) will be an onsite, go-to team that will assist local management in coordinating relief efforts. The team will consist of a group in which has prepared and trained for the necessary response.

The next item in the post hurricane section is for the purpose of driver information. It outlines steps that drivers should take during their return to work and discusses driver support.

The third item outlined in this section is facility recovery and cleaning. The report discusses flooding, and how to handle mold. The report also explains proper damage assessment and claim procedures.

After facility recovery and clean up, employee assistance from The KAG is outlined. For educational purposes, the report ends with important hurricane links, which can be used for ongoing training.

Attached to the Hurricane report are three documents: 1.) The Terminal Manager Checklist 2.) The Terminal Emergency Kit 3.) The Employee Hurricane Checklist. The purpose of these documents is to clearly define employee responsibilities.
