The Meaning of the Little Line

The little line representing the meaning of our lives is what some would describe as most important. The dash between our date of birth and death contains the legend of the person. For my dash, I would most desire for my peers to remember my qualities as a human being; my desire, kindness and caring nature drive me to live life to the fullest. By the time my dash finds its end, I strive to find my true meaning in the life I have lived. I want to be able to say that I have no regrets and I at least tried everything I wished to once attempt. I do not want my dash to show my accomplishments, but only display my gratefulness for life itself in ways I have yet to determine. The mark between the dates will represent how I helped others and took advantage of my opportunities to better the world. I strive to make others remember, idolize and admire the person I have become and the person I will be. Otherwise, I will find no accomplishment in my life completed. Quickly, as our dashes move on, we as humans lose focus on what truly matters throughout our lives. People focus on money and success, mainly distractions, instead of helping others and trying to make a difference in the world. The life lived by a person can be shielded due to judgment on successes instead of qualities and actions found within the person's life. The dash found on my tombstone should reflect on the actions I have done to better the world we live in instead of the amount of money I have made. The true meaning of my dash will show how good of a person I was and not show my successes in which distractions were involved.
