TLC:
This report is on my visit, and my experience in the TLC. The TLC
offers tutoring in many subjects to enrolled students at COC on a
walk in basis at no charge. TLC stands for Turtoring/Learning/Computer
Lab. It is located in Bonelli Hall room 209. The Fall 2010" hours are as
follows: Monday-Thursday 8am-8pm, Friday and Saturday 9am-1pm, and
closed on Sundays. The contact person would be Mojdeh Mahn who is the
program director. His number is (661)362-3346. It offers individual workshops
to students for the following, math anxiety, study skills, and test anxiety. Online
tutoring is available for students enrolled in English classes at COC. Tutoring for
the following subjects are also offered. Biology, Business Math/accounting,
Microbiology, Chemistry, and Spanish.TLC Lab supports all of the classes taught
in Information Management. Also tutorials for beging algebra, introductory algebra,
intermediate algebra, college algebra and skills tutor for English grammer. Along with
getting help with all your classes you will learn how to print out your work on one of
the top-of the line laser printers. Students must purchase a print card in order to print.
Access to Encyclopedia Britannica are available with a time line of 30 minutes. To make
testing appointments you need to call (661) 362-3349. That all just covers some of what
they offer. The TLC is a great help I would say to every student on the campus. I know I
myself have found it to be very helpful.
