What is married life to me?

Marriage as defined as Merriam-Webster Dictionary is the state of being united to a person of the opposite sex as husband and wife in a consensual and contractual relationship recognized by the law. When two people start a romantic relationship, they'll first learn to know each other and show only the best features to their partners. After some time, they get to know more and understand almost everything about their partners and decided that is the one. Two people in relationship marry and vow to be by each other side forever. They started to experience many changes in their life and either enjoying it or regretting it. But, what does it really mean by married life?

Well, to me, married life means having new responsibilities in our life such as responsibility towards our spouse, towards our in-laws and even towards our children in the future. Besides that, we also will have someone to share all those responsibilities. Good thing about having a spouse is that we would not have to bear all the expenses all alone. The expenses for house rent, car payment, groceries and even our holidays can just be shared and equally divided among each of us. After all, we are both sharing the same things.

Secondly, married life means our life will become more oriented and discipline. Besides that, most of your old bad habits will also change. For example, if your spouse is a smoker before marriage, he would try to change these habits and become more disciplined after marriage in order to show a good example to his children. In conclusion, being married will definitely change you and make you into a more disciplined and oriented person.

Thirdly, married life means you are accepting a new person or family into your life. While technically you are married to your spouse, you also married with their families; your in-laws. This means that we must learn how to live in a different environment to cope with other people and we must also have the give and take policy.

Other than that, married life will make you more committed. You will concentrate more on the family bonding and also someone who is worth relying on. This will make others trust you more. For example, when you are doing something such as working, you will be committed because you have a reason for the hard work that you are going through.

Lastly, married life to me is having more patience with each other which makes the love between a family grow fonder. Being patient is also about listening. We should listen to our spouse attentively. Even if they repeat their mistakes quite a number of times, be patient and forgive them. We must remember that both have different upbringings, therefore one shoud be patient and ready to overlook at the differences.

To summarize it all, married life is definitely a wonderful thing in life which only comes once. Marriage is an adventurous journey, in which we are
