Life is pretty calm and planned for me. I live in the biggest tree in town, gather the food I eat so no major expenses, then maybe a litter of pups in the spring with a new fling each year. So I would have to say the easiest time of the year has to be spring time, old ladies come in abundance to just give away free food. Now there is only one thing that really cracks my nuts, that intruders coming into my park and steeling my food and killing my game with the females. Around the time of the first bloom in spring when the sun starts to shine at it brightest, the old ladies like clock work start to come out. They always bring the best A class lightly salted nuts that I know just doesn't catch my attention, because of the old ladies I'm on my maximum guard. My rivals every year stay the same, those snotty disgusting pigeons who think they're so great because they can fly, last but not least, "Raymond." Raymond was tall sleek brown squirrel with a coat that seam to absorb the suns rays and make his coat shinier, his tail is long and bushy and he had the deepest brown eyes that if you didn't catch yourself you would start to trust him. Those are his good qualities he has a bad side too his snake tongue was at the top of that list. He could make a dog think he's a vegetarian. None of his talent ever bothered me though Ziggy the toughest squirrel in town.

This spring was different when the first old lady came no one was there but me at the time I was ecstatic, all that changed when I had the overwhelming feeling that I was being watched by someone other than the old lady. I glanced around but saw no one, but I knew someone was there I could feel their eyes piercing my back side. My body began to feel cold to the point where I ditched all the nut,( except the 7 that I had stored in my mouth) and ran back to my bachelor whole. I kept my head out all night look for that feeling, trying to find who or what made me so cold. Grggle sounds started to pour out of my stomach ,I was famished.
