Act of Kindness

"Excuse Me Sir..."

I never got his name..His tears.Remembering his smile.The heartfelt moment.It was a family day out. I was leaving Walmart from picking up groceries for the week. As I was leaving,pulling up to the stop light. There was a man and a woman sitting on the corner. The man looked old,ragged,dirty,depressed and needing new clothes.The woman looked to be his wife,her appearance was mostly the same his.Ragged,dirty,depressed,and hungry. The man held a sign reading, "Need money,no food,no home,need help." My grandma asking, " Does anyone have any money to give him?" I rolled down my window,the man and I made eye contact.Feeling like our souls and lives crossed for a reason. I grabbed all the money I had.Refusal.The man refused to take the money, he repeated, "No..no..no son..you're just a kid I can't take your money..I'm sorry..I can't." Telling the man I wanted him to take it and that he needed it more than me.He then stood up his hands,feeling like icicles in winter,rough like sandpaper,and dirty like a pig rolling in mud. He grabbed the money from my hand,and began to cry heavily,balling his eyes out. The woman then stood next to him and had seen how much I'd given them.Twenty dollars.Then both embraced in a hug,crying. Both the man and woman kept telling me, "Thank you,thank you,thank you." I then said with confidence, "You're both very welcome." Everyone in the car kept telling me how proud of me they were. The feelings I felt made me feel like I was a good person.Seeing how much it meant to the both of them changed my life forever.Making me feel like I should do more good things for those who need it. Putting their needs ahead of my own.I felt like I did something good.

I believe that kindness is effective and important because the world would be so much worse without it. I believe without kindness the world would be different from the way it is today,making things more complex,more stressful,and without all of the kindness to me I believe the world would be a huge mess full of disaster.I believe kindful gestures are a good thing because it shows the good side of people,and how warm hearted they may be.When people don't show kindness it shows that they may not have any feelings towards anything or anyone.And I believe kindness is such a good aspect of life,and kindness should always be welcomed and never mistreated or misused.
