By doing this the plant will be resistant to herbicides. How ever, the process will insert toxins such as Bt into the food such as soy. It is possible that the G.E. foods can create allergies and diseases, which will be harmful to the human body if consumed. Although one of the arguments in favor of biotech food is that it helps to feed people across the planet. How ever, the reason why people are not able to eat enough is because of the lack of money. In this case only the GMO corporations will benefit. By bribing the FDA the approvals such as being able to label GMOs as organic food has been passed. The only way to avoid GMOs is to eat organic food.

The chemical attracts nematodes that kill the larvae of the western corn rootworm, responsible for an estimated $ 1 billion in lost revenue in the U.S. every year. The University of Neuchatel colleagues and professor Ted Turlings stated that a 50% drop in damage to the engineered plants could be observed. This shows how effective the G.E. foods are against harmful insects to the plant. Turlings's team is now looking into creating super-resistant maize by using the gene for caryophyllene on the plants. That way the Bt toxin produced by the plants can be used against the rootworms.
