Chronology:

- October 1987: Yeltsin Criticize perestroika and Gorbachev's rule at a central committee plenum and falls from favor.

- January 1991: Soviet troop seize the Vilnius television, killing fourteen. Yeltsin flies to Tallinn and sing a treaty of cooperation with Baltic republics.

- February 1991: Yeltsin calls on television for Gorbachev's resignation.

- April 1991: Gorbachev, Yeltsin, and head of eight other Union republic sign Novo-Ogaryovo Agreement, which initiates negotiations to replace the Soviet Union with a loose confederation.

- December 1991: Gorbachev resigns and hands over the "nuclear button" and the general secretary's secret archives to Yeltsin. At the Kremlin,

On August 21st at 2:15pm the Presidential Soviet plane locates toward at Foros. Kryuchekov, Yazovm, Baklanov, and Tizyakov were on that plane, but Lukyanov and Vladimer were on other plane.

At 4:52pm TU-134 bound for Foros left Vnukovo Airport carrying 14 Russian members of the parliament.

Gorbachev refused to speak substantively to the coup plotters, and controlled himself to give them a strict moral tick off. When Gorbachev's wife saw Alexander and other people she asked them in fright if they came to arrest them, "Why" Rutskoi in shock and the he said "we are liberating you!!" so she start crying. Same night Gorbachev came to the plane with his face inside out.
