Answer 1

For our project, brainstorming has been our forte for this project. We accomplish more when we have face-to-face meetings and are able to be more creative than if we were to do brainlining. We do believe in using the brainlining when we are refining our idea. Our main types of brainlining for this sort of situations are email, WebEx, and Google Docs.

During one of our meetings we came up with a marketing plan for our company we are creating by creating a web of ideas. As a group, we met in the library at UMass Dartmouth. They offer study group rooms that consist of white boards and two televisions that connect to our laptops. We used the whiteboards to write down the main ideas our group came up with for the basic marketing plan. From there we were building on our main ideas. We started with the basic company product we were distributing; retail and distribution. From there we made a web from the ideas we were coming up with such as products. We came up with marketing ideas such as how we were marketing and to whom we were marketing to. Most of our team meetings are performed in this fashion.

From there we put our ideas online i.e. email and Webex and created a more thorough marketing plan from our ideas we came up with. With WebEx is a video chat system. We are able to discuss through video chat our various ideas and work with each other to help accomplish a plan of action of how we are to accomplish our goal for this company and project. WebEx allows us to share our screen so that it will be easier to display our ideas to each other. The host position is able to be shared amongst the various people attending the virtual meeting. Through WebEx we are able to have a meeting in the comfort of our own homes or dorms.

Email is one of the main forms of criteria for our group. We have used email to forward requests and enquiries. We are also able to talk about all of our ideas through one email and also comment or constructively criticize others ideas through group emailing. We also have accomplished a great deal through group texting also. With smartphones we are able to surf the internet and copy and paste weblinks in text. With text we are able to instantly receive the message and comment right away on it. We can copy and paste images of product ideas. Since everything is instantaneous we are able to accomplish a lot without actually meeting face to face.

Lastly, another component that is useful to us is GoogleDocs. We use this method of technology because a lot of our work consists of websites and images of possible products we would be creating or distributing. GoogleDocs allows us to share documents and other ideas that could possibly be used for our company.

Most of our work is done face-to-face because our ideas work better when we have meetings because we are able to focus on just the company and not have the worries of distractions that present itself at home or in our dorms. We are able to use the technology that is provided to us by UMass Dartmouth library to help us to become creative. We have televisions that we are able to connect our computers to and also white boards are provided in each of the study group rooms and we are able to display all our ideas on a board and display what we have found on our computers through the televisions that we have connected our computers too. Having these meetings allow us to focus on the current subject of the company without any distractions and a lot of work is done this way.

We have glanced at the HubSpot website. None of us were familiar with this service and company. After watching the various training videos, we have found that this is a very useful product to have for a small company. This shows us
