Strategic planning is a process that begins with the setting of organizational aims, defines strategies and policies to achieve them and develops detailed plans to make sure that the strategies are implemented so as to achieve the ends sought. It is a process of deciding in advance what kind of planning effort is to be undertaken , when it is to be done, How it is to be done, who is going to do it and what will be done with the results.
