1. achieving effective communication

Effective communication can enhance relationships as the people involved are able to share their experiences and feel understood. This builds connection. Conflicts are therefore less likely to arise from you share feelings, values and attitudes in an atmosphere of trust the connection between people become stronger

2. applying management skills in different contexts

Management skills are therefore vital in decision making and can work to enhance the wellbeing of group members as goals are established and later successfully achieved. Management is a planned activity. The more skilled an individual becomes in the application of management, the greater the control they will have over aspects of their life. This can ultimately lead to improvements in their quality of life and thus their wellbeing

3. barriers in communication

Ineffective communication can lead to errors, misunderstandings, poor relationships and negative feelings. Barriers to communication can cause problems and misunderstandings as they distort or interpret the message and meaning.

4. classification of needs

Human needs have been investigated and explored by many researchers in history as a result they have been written about and classified in a number of ways. Three common classifications are:

1-primary and secondary needs

2-social, physical , emotional, cultural and spiritual needs

3-maslows hierarchy of needs

studies a comparison of the effectiveness of these classifications is required

5. classification of resources

-Economic-financial resources that can be used to achieve economic gain or goals. They include

income and wage interest, credit from a mortgage, credit accounts, fringe benefits, wealth generated from property, jewellery, cars etc.

-non-economic-non financial resources that have no relationship to money: communication skills, energy, community resources.

-human-the skills , abilities or talents of people etc knowledge, initiative, cooperation, creativity, compassion

-non human-non human resources that are tangible or touchable objects etc food, parks, car, computer.

-formal-that are organised and established by the community, they usually have set hours of operation and a formal system of leadership etc libraries, sports clubs

-informal-are people or things that are available and or accessed in a informal way etc family, friends, neighbours

6. communication

enables the sharing of feelings and opinions , the expression of ideas, the establishment of a rapport between people and is used to initiate and maintain relationships between individuals and groups. Effective communication is essential in interpreting relationships, decision making and managment.moreover our ability to communicate effectively will have a significant effect on yourself esteem , self-confidence and ultimately our wellbeing.

communication has four main components

-the sender-the source of teh message and who encodes the message

- the receiver- the destination for the message and who decodes the message

-the message- has the symbols that have meaning for the sender and receiver

the medium- the means by which the message is transmitted, such as in social environment and whether it is by telephone, mobile , email or instant messaging

aggressive-occurs when a person's feelings are expressed in an intimidating manner, sometimes denying the listener an opportunity to participate in the discussionassertive-occurs when individuals express their feelings in an acceptable, non-aggressive, positive manner, and states their rights, opinions , knowledge, requests or desires without hurting or depreciating otherspassive-occurs when individuals fail to express their feelings, needs and ideas

9. decision making processes

the process of making choices or reaching conclusions based on considering the alternatives available.

10. decision making styles

Impulsive-an impulsive decision in a hasty decision usually made spontaneously, without considering the alternatives or outcomesinitiative-an intuitive decision is based on instinct: the inner feeling or knowledge that is the right decision to make at the time.hesitant-a hesitant decision is made with individual may have trouble making the decision due to a lack of confidence or knowledge in understanding what the alternatives or outcomes related to the decision will beconfidence-a confident decision is made with certainty and trust: alternatives have been identified and outcomes wisely evaluated to ensure that the best decision has been made.Rational-a rational decision is logical and sensible. a common sense approach to the decision making process is undertaken-information is gathered, alternatives carefully considered and outcomes and consequences evaluated prior to an individual making their final choice
