Describe type or specific organization you are considering: The organization I will be utilizing for my Stakeholder List is MedStar Health. Medstar Health’s 30,000 associates and 6,000 affiliated physicians support their patient-first philosophy of care, compassion, clinical excellence, and customer service. MedStar cares for more than half-million patients each year across Maryland and the Washington, D.C., region in their hospitals, urgent care and ambulatory care facilities, and physician offices. The MedStar Health system combines the best aspects of medicine, research and innovation.

Patients

Patients throughout the Washington, DC, Maryland and Virginia area rely on MedStar Health for local access to quality healthcare services.

MedStar Health cares about their patients as this group includes individuals who have established primary care providers within the health system, and as such are a source of income for the organization.

Physicians

Physicians rely on MedStar Health for employment, for continuing education training, as well as access to the newest technologies available within the medical profession.

MedStar Heath is invested in the physicians include MDs, DOs, as well as Advanced Practice Providers that they employ because they provide care to patients that come to MedStar Health for treatment.

Nurses

Nurses rely on MedStar Health for employment. They also rely on MedStar Health for continuing education training, and access to the latest technology in patient care.

MedStar Health is invested in its nurses which include RNs, LPNs and other levels of nurses, because they participate in the care of MedStar Health’s patients.

Support Staff

The support staff assist the physicians and nurses rely on MedStar Health for income and purpose. MedStar Health also provides them with the ability to grow within the organization

MedStar Health cares about their support staff, as they provide support services that are dedicated to the mission and values of MedStar Health.

JCAHO

Provides accreditation for ambulatory care centers, hospitals and labs.

MedStar Health cares about JCAHO because this organization provides accreditation for the hospital, which maintains the hospitals reputation within the community.

Research

MedStar Health conducts robust research in many areas of medicine through MedStar Health Research Institute and is nationally recognized for incentives in diabetes, cancer and more.

MedStar Health cares about its partnership with local, regional and national researchers and research organizations because it assists them in improving the health of their patients with the latest cutting edge technology.

Payers

Payers provide income to MedStar Health as well as value

MedStar Health is invested in its payers because they are the source of financial payments for services rendered.

Administrative

MedStar Health’s administration helps support physicians and board members to uphold MedStar Health’s values and mission. The administration assists in implementing policies and procedures

MedStar Health is invested in their administration because it functions as the organizations leader and manages MedStar Health’s employees.

Vendors

Provide sales income. The organization provides an environment for the vendors to build a reputation for their products. The ability to improve patient’s quality of life.

MedStar Health is invested in the vendors that come to the organization as they provide the hospital with high quality, cost effective equipment and drugs for patients.

Washington DC, Maryland and Virginia Community

MedStar Health provides community outreach services to promote prevention and resources to care

MedStar Health cares about the Washington, DC, Maryland and Virginia community because the people from these communities are the ones who come to MedStar Health for care, as such they are a source of income.
