Geographical and other benefits

Sri Lanka is a country of excellence of natural beauty, rich in cultural heritage and also well known country for genuinely warm and hospitable friendly people. The country is more suitable to invest because not only natural beauty, they have ended the major risk from the country can have, its civil war. After ending the civil war Sri Lanka had a fantastic development through the country. Sri Lankan government had done excellent developing projects; develop infrastructure, port, air port, etc...

In Sri Lanka hotel industry is a leading income brings to the country, its direct help to the economic growth. So its perfect Shangri la can bring to heart of Colombo, also southern coast like hambanthota. The first choice is Colombo, because it's the main city, main port, highly resident, major attractions like Galle face, also the hotel will be easily accessible from Colombo International Airport in 45 minutes by car.

If this project started government will provide tax free concessions

As a marketing manager, I will explaining all these benefits and why want to investing to bring down Shangri La hotel to Sri Lanka by using five cultural dimensions of Geert Hofstede.

Uncertainty Avoidance

Sri Lanka has a less Uncertainty Avoidance, for an example with the economy crisis has begun and effected more countries like United States, England, and Greece in recent time (2011). Also they had a high unemployment situation But Sri Lanka does not effect that much from the economy crisis. People of Sri Lanka does not losses their jobs. So looking at this point Sri Lankan people have a greater willingness to take risks.

Once the civil war ended after 30 years Sri Lanka avoided the greatest risk. Therefore this project will get the benefits from these types of risky situations.

Sri Lankan people are more focus or concern about their future. They always save money for their future and plan their future. That is why they are more concern about their and their children's education, health etc.

So in this scenario from the bottom level to top level employees is always preparing to face the bad situation. Especially people in uncertainty avoiding countries are also more emotional and motivated by inner nervous energy. when considering the situation here people are really emotional and when someone needs help they always ready to do that. Therefore management can easily allocate this kind of human behaviour for the good wealth of company.

But we can still see the opposite side of this among some people that is uncertainty accepting culture. Those kinds of people are more tolerant of opinions different from what they are used to. They try to have few rules as possible and on the philosophical and religious level, they are relativist and allow many currents to flow side by side.....management must focus about this kind of people also . Anyway different ideas will ultimately come out with and better output. Therefore when investing for this project management must know how to handle different personalities and how can they make them out for the benefit of the company.

Individualism Vs. Collectivism

According to this dimension people who lives in Sri Lanka mostly getting a as high rate of collectivism. Organizations in the country normally formed as a family. Even in the society can find that situation. For an example in a funeral or a wedding, people always coming forward to help each other. Same scenario, people who working for the organization gather and help their employee on behalf of their organization. By looking at Shangri La's brand manifesto was ''hospitality from the heart'', so we can provide better service for internal and external parties by using the collectivism.

For every organisation they should have a target. At the end of the day sales are the main aspect of the entity. So in this scenario management can give separate targets for sales managers. It they achieve those targets management can motivate and encourage them
