When children grow up they meet other children and it's vital that they all get along with each other. What are some ways to get our children to all get along? How do we get there? It's not automatic. Molding positive social skills is not something that just happens; it takes time, effort and a lot of practice. How do children develop social skills? When a child develops a lasting relationship with their teachers, friends, family or parents, their social skills will evolve. Being able to make good decisions, being able to communicate effectively, resolve problems and just overall having great integrity and personality, are just a few skills or personal capabilities that contribute to positive social development in life's responsibilities and social rules. The skills contribute in many different ways. Having great communication skills will promote or enable our children to know what to say or how to say it. Having great communication skills will also help our children in their academic performance. When our children have great problem solving skills, the ability to make great decisions and good morals and integrity, it will help our children behave in diverse situations and have a better relationship with parents, educators and friends. These are positive skills that our children learn and use in everyday life with family, peers and other adults.

There are many factors that contribute to the development of the skills and capabilities in children. One factor is the child's family environment. The family environment is very important when it comes to children's developmental skills and capabilities. When a child is in a family environment that communicates with each other and listen to what one another has to say, this an enormous contribution to help the child with the development of his or her communication skills. When we value the time to actually talk with our children and become an active listener, we are showing or teaching our children awesome communication skills and how to effectively communicate with others. Problem solving skills can be taught to our children by encouraging family members to make decisions when they are showing direction or guiding our children on the right path. By guiding them on the right path, families can help children with their problem solving skills by teaching them how to find the root of the problem, they can then think of different ways to find solutions, thoroughly define the solution and then figure out how you're going to solve the problem. Having a great personality or great integrity in life is great ways of showing or helping children develop the skills of having great integrity and making the right decisions and doing the right things in life. Children lead by example. When parents treat their children with great integrity and communicate with them effectively, children learn from what they see and the way they are treated.

When a child is in a family environment that shows a lack of social skills this can inhibit the development of the skills and capabilities that the child needs in a wide range of life's social roles and responsibilities. Having a family that does not communicate effectively can inhibit the child from developing those communication skills. Being in a family environment that lacks the social skills
