Diversity

Most managers worry about the ethnical diversity when it comes to planning, organizing, leading and controlling to continue to stay profitable. A code of ethics made up by every organization will not discriminate under any condition. Regardless of race, religion, gender or disability if a person is willing to work and the organization has an opening that is suited for that person then they will be hired. Experience and past history is also a big factor.

Ethnical diversity can affect planning because issues can arise with workers due to the different types of cultures they may have. When organizing the staff there can be an issue due to some cultures, not be able to work on certain days or hours. MacDonald's needs to accommodate and be flexible to these cultures and learn to schedule others to cover. This can also plays a big part and can change the way the managers lead their staff. One manager can be easy going and understanding willing to work with you. But another manager can a stickler for the rules and gives no slack. Both need to be able to lead there teams even if they don't work the same way as they do. This may cause the manager to micromanage the staff in order for the job to get done. Ethnical diversity can affect control when managing a staff because it can involve handling problems differently, and the way managers communicate with their staff. If managers don't follow or enforce rules, then the workers may feel that the rules are not important, which may result into losing the control and respect of the staff. Managers must be fair and treat everyone equally, if not issues can arise and things can be brought to the attention of others even if they are false accusations. Some employees can turn things so they believe they are being judges or handled due to their race if they feel they are not being treated equal. As a manager there job is to be able to handle this situation if it comes up or prevent it from happening at all.
