Mini-class Outline

Topic:  Eating Clean foods as a Lifestyle Change

My plan is to educate adolescents to adults on how to change their eating habits from processed foods to eating clean whole natural foods as a lifestyle change.  It will be taught over a 5-week period, with the following topics being addressed:

  1. What is clean eating
  2. Good foods verses bad foods
  3. How to start eating clean whole foods
  4. Prepping and eating clean
  5. Maintaining clean eating for a lifetime

I expect the people taking this course to be interactive on a weekly and daily basis.  There will be discussions that will go on between students themselves as well as the teacher on a weekly basis.  As the course progresses, students will be held accountable daily by using an online food tracking website in which will need to be posted daily after the second week.

Some activities or assignment ideas might include:

  1. A lesson that involves using the lose it website or app. to track daily food intake.
  2. Web searches for recipes that are part of eating whole clean foods and making and trying the recipe as well as posting a picture of the finished product.
  3. After learning what clean eating is, have discussion questions that show their understanding of the topic along with a requirement of students responding to one another’s posts.
  4. Listening or watching YouTube videos on clean eating or what processed foods do to our bodies and then responding to a discussion question.
  5. Students create their own weekly meal plan.
  6. Students write an introduction post as to what their current eating habits are.
  7. Students end the course by writing a 2-page paper on how they plan to maintain clean eating habits and how over the past 4 weeks their lives and bodies have changed by changing what they eat on a daily basis.
