When deciding where to take your newborn children for daycare, there are many options and decisions to be made and decide upon on. Some of the choices are home daycare, a child development center and or a nanny. The choice you make for your family is a very important one. I think that you have to be comfortable with your choice and make sure that it is the one that your child will also be comfortable with once they get older and also how much learning they will be doing.

Home daycare is a great option for families that need more one-on-one care for their child (ren). The child (ren) gets more attention and some even create a greater bond with their provider. Home daycare is a little bit more because the provider can charger what they want, within reason. The provider can always choose when she is open or closed but she can also help you find care. The provider also gets inspected on monthly base and any complaints get handled with the home daycare provider Director. Home daycare is also a great option is you have a child with behavioral issues. The provider can also seek help from outside sources and also have the parents become more involved with the child's behavioral plan. Home daycare the provider should have her fingerprints and criminal background checked before care should begin.

A child development center is a lot larger program, they can have anywhere between 25- 175 children in their program. At a military installation your fee is based on what you make, this maybe more helpful to the younger airman; but for someone who has more rank and a spouse that works it can cost a lot more. The facility has a camera in every room and parents and the Director and Assistant Director can see what is going on at all times. Daycare programs are also open during typical working hours and open almost all days of the year. It may be harder to have a bond with the providers. In bigger programs it may have multiple providers and most defiantly more children. At the child development centers all of the providers get their fingerprints and background check to insure that they have not committed a crime. At a bigger scale center, you have a trainer that can also help with your child's development and help improve any developmental issues or behavior issues. At government childcare center, the trainer, assistant director and director all have their degrees in Early Childhood Education.

Nannies are a great option for parents who work long hours and need someone at all times. Nannies are in your home where the children are comfortable
