Education
* After attending College you must attend medical school and also complete a residency. After receive specialized training in the field of genetics, they must obtain certification from the American Board of Medical Genetics, or ABMG. This can take seven to ten years to complete.
Responsibilities
* A clinical geneticist is a doctor who specializes in genetics. They are skilled in the evaluation of diseases and problems like birth defects, genetic disorders, familial cancers, and chromosomal abnormalities. They also perform genetic testing to see if one or both parents carry a gene that can prevent them from having children as well as testing the results of miscarriages for genetic abnormalities.
Salary Range
* With one to four years of experience, the pay scale is between $61,000 - $120,800. Five to nine years of experience the salary is between $68,800 and $115,000. With more experience, the salary range goes to $200,000 per year.

Reflection
I think this would be very rewarding job to help people discover genetic problems and trace where they came from. I would enjoy meeting the patients and discovering their histories to find out where their problems came from. It would be great also to help a couple be able to have a baby after they thought there was no way. I would like this career, but not the ten years of school
