Corporate social responsibility refers to business practices that benefit the society, including environmental efforts, ethical labor practices, volunteering and philanthropy.

Mostly, warehouses handle lots of goods. No doubt that the most common corporate social responsibility that involve in warehousing is environmental protection.

For environmental protection, warehouses can do more on energy saving. Firstly, warehouses can make use of LED to reduce electricity and energy used up. Since warehouses operate for a longer hour to handle more and more goods from all around the world, instead of using … lighting, LED lighting is more energy saving and thus release less pollution to the environment.

Besides, warehousing can adopt environmental friendly design of set up. The size of warehouse is quite large, an environmental friendly design or layout can help the operation efficiency but also lower the equipment used up, hence, it is able to protect the operation and energy wastes.

Moreover, when managing the materials, the employee can recycle resources from the process. For instance, a number of paper boxes are used during transportation, a company can use standardize size of paper box and recycle those undefective paper boxes in order to reduce the amount of paper boxes each year and reduce the demand for more wasted paper boxes.

Apart from environmental protection, a company can do better in ethical labor practices.
